Why RNBDJ and GHAJINI Will Strike Gold at the BO

It is Thursday, the 11th, today and as this post goes to press the review of Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi (RNBDJ) is still not up on indiafm.com. Although Taran Adarsh’s reviews, particuarly the ones glorfying a film, need to be taken with a pinch of salt, a published review of a blockbuster release prior to the release date is a good indicator of blockbuster collections at least for the first few days. Main Hoon Naa and Om Shanthi Om’s reviews were published at least four days ahead of their release.

Since Monday I’ve been frantically tuning in to indiafm.com to check out the review, but nay. However, it turns out that there are others too doing the same and one version of Taran Adarsh’s review is published on passionforcinema.com. Not sure if it is a fake or real one, but surely that tells about the craze his reviews have especially when it is a SRK starrer. This unofficial reivew gives the film five stars, but lets wait for the real verdict. Well, whether or not RNBDJ and Ghajini’s reviews appear a few days before their release on indiafm.com, the two films are bound to strike gold at the box office. The reason is plain and simple—there is nothing else cheerful going on in Bollywood and our Nation.

Of course, the exception would be if the two films are so badly made that it plunges the industry in to a further depression. RNBDJ looks like a full-fledged romantic-masala entertainer from SRK and Yash Raj so it would be safe to say that it is a minimum gaurantee. To be a blockbuster, it has to be have the stuff and the verdict will be out sometime mid-next week. However, being a love story promising wholesome family entertainment, the film has all the potential to strike gold. As for Ghajini, Amir’s new look and his craze will see that it gets a blockbuster opening the first three days. However, the film looks heavy on violence and I am not sure if audience want to see any more death, violence, and revenge and might lack repeat value. In this matter, Ghajini is at a disadvantage

Anyways, lets toast to the success of these two films! the industry and audience really need it!
